Ali Fedotowsky started cleaning for the holidays in September.

“The holiday season gets so crazy so the time to prepare is really early,” the former Bachelorette, 32, tells PEOPLE. “I think getting ahead of the game is really key.” She calls out a few “things you wouldn’t normally think to clean right before guests come, like your bathroom mats and your fireplace” in particular.

It’s not all work for the new mom, though. After she preps for guests by wiping down her home with her secret weapon, Four Monks all-purpose cleaner, she gets to move onto the fun part: celebrating the season with her 4-month-old daughter, Molly, for the first time.

“It’s by far the most exciting holidays ever for me as an adult,” she says. “I’m just so excited to do everything with her.”

One sweet tradition she hopes to pass on to her daughter with fiancé Kevin Manno? Starting a cache of meaningful ornaments to be added to each year. “We’re going to start a little collection for her this year, and hopefully she’ll have them until she’s an adult and, I hope, continues it herself.”

The young family hopes to host most of this year’s celebrations, and those lucky enough to stay at Hotel Fedotwosky will enjoy a pretty tasty turn-down service.

“Every time I used to stay at two of my friends houses, they always put a chocolate on my pillow. So now when we have guests, I always put a chocolate on their pillow,” she says. “We’re fancy at our house.”
