Happy birthday Joanna Gaines!

Everyone’s favorite farmhouse-style decorator is celebrating her 39th year of life today — as if we needed another reason to share our obsession. Between her adorable family, addictive makeover show, and ultimate #couplegoals with husband, Chip, the HGTV-watching world is constantly finding a reason to be even more in love with the star. Here, a few of our favorite Jo moments that prove she’s so much more than shiplap:

1. When she and Chip were just the cutest.

Although they had a bit of a rocky start to their first date, the two are now the most adorable TV couple around. “Match made in heaven is not the term you would use to describe us,” Joanna told PEOPLE in October. “But when we mixed our personalities together, it created a spark.”

2. When she was almost as goofy as her husband.

Although she takes her Fixer Upper job very seriously, Joanna’s not afraid to have a little fun. The proof: this stylish selfie where she so generously thanks Chip for the “hair help.”

3. When she gave us the chances to get her look at home.

Between her paint, wallpaper line, rugs and magazine, Joanna is dedicated to giving her fans opportunities to get her coveted style for themselves.

4. When she revealed she’s (almost) as messy as the rest of us.

A hallway littered with laundry reminds us all that Joanna is in fact human (but her stunning laundry room still gives us a reason to be jealous).

5. When she put her family before fame.

“They’re so young and we want to give them the chance to have a normal childhood,” Joanna told PEOPLE of her four children, Drake, 11, Ella, 9, Duke, 8, and Emmie, 6.

Chip adds, “We are thankful for our success. But if it ever compromised our ability to be a healthy married couple or our kids started to get a little bit off track, we would quit this thing in a heartbeat.”
