With Halloween less than a week away, it’s time to get your party snack game plan in action. While candy and caramel apples are nice, all those sweets have us craving something savory.

That’s where these breadsticks come in. Inspired by a technique that Sarah Michelle Gellar taught us with her pretzel bones, we adapted it using store-bought pizza dough, which means these come together super quick. Serve with a splatter of marinara sauce to make ’em extra spooky.

Kind of morbid? Yes. Delicious? Also yes. And if you’re hungry for more food hacks, we’ve got you covered.

Garlic Breadstick Bones Recipe

1. Preheat the oven to 400°. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 15″x10″ rectangle.

2. Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into 12 even strips horizontally. Form the dough into bone shapes using the technique in the video above.

3. Transfer the bones to a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and salt. Bake for 15 minutes, until golden. Serve warm with marinara sauce.
