Though he isn’t vegetarian, “The Long Way” singer prefers plant-based foods and sticks to a smoothie for breakfast every morning. “I’ll start with a protein shake mix, add in a little peanut butter powder, a banana, blueberries, and some almond milk,” he said.
As for temptations on board his ride? “My tour bus literally has nothing exciting on it,” he said with a laugh. When there are catered meals, Eldredge opts for grilled chicken breast, and salads with couscous, quinoa and kale. If he’s dining out for Asian food, he’ll order a healthy main course and just take a bite of a friend’s pad Thai to satisfy his craving.

He’s also got snacking down to a science. Instead of using tortilla chips, “I just eat the salsa with a fork,” he said. (And, no, we don’t think he was joking.)
But his idea of a “cheat eat” is by far the most impressive. Only once a month or “maybe once every couple of weeks,” Eldredge will dig into frozen yogurt. “I go for the mango flavor or peanut butter and chocolate, and top it with granola and fruit,” he said.
If only we had so much will power.
