Security footage from a nearby convenience store shows the man removing the dress after allegedly robbing the bank and fleeing the scene shirtless in shorts and blue and white Nike sneakers, an FBI news release states.
“He was definitely trying to hide his facial features,” Amy Thoreson, spokesperson for the New York FBI, says of the suspect’s unusual ensemble. “But luckily because he went into the deli next door and he took all the disguise off, we got a clear shot of him coming out.”
The man is said to be about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 tall and about 175 lbs. He did not appear to have any visible tattoos and may have some scarring around his mouth, the news release states.
Investigators say the man may be armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI New York Office at (212) 384-5000 or the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward.
