The father of a 3-year-old boy whose body was recovered from the wooded outskirts of a park in New Jersey back in October was indicted this week by a grand jury on charges related to the toddler’s death.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office announced the charges against David Creato, Jr., 22, on Monday.
A statement from authorities says Creato faces murder and endangering the welfare of a child charges stemming from his son Brendan’s killing.
The child was reported missing the morning of Oct. 13, 2015, and police dogs found him three hours later in the park, which isn’t far from his parents’ home, police say.

Investigators aren’t saying what led them to arrest Creato for his young son’s murder.
Creato, who works for his family’s home improvement business, was arraigned in court on Tuesday and is being held on $750,000 bail.
He has yet to enter a plea to the charges against him.
Attempts to contact Creato’s attorney were unsuccessful Tuesday.
