Mohamed Hadid is suing a former employee who allegedly stole thousands of family photographs, including of daughters Gigi and Bella taken when they were minors.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles and obtained by PEOPLE, Hadid alleges that a man who worked in the real estate developer’s home from 2010-2013 stole more than 2,200 photographs, including family photos with Michael Jackson as well as photos taken during parties at the residence. The lawsuit says Hadid retained a professional photographer for such events, and is the sole copywriter holder for the photos.

Hadid, who was married to Yolanda Foster from 1994-2000, says the defendant also took business, personal and medical records from his home. He is seeking for the defendant to return the photographs and documents and to prevent him from making them public.

Hadid is also asking for damages to compensate for any profits the defendant may have reaped from sale of the photographs or documents.
