Lindsay Lohan was arrested and issued a desk-appearance ticket for leaving the scene of an accident early Wednesday morning in Manhattan’s Chelsea District, police tell PEOPLE.
Authorities say a 34-year-old Hispanic male alleges that Lohan clipped him when she was driving her 2010 black Porsche Cayenne SUV in an alleyway between the Maritime and Dream Hotels, on 16th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues.
After allegedly hitting the man, she or her occupant got out of the SUV to check the vehicle for damage, then the two went into the Dream, say police. The victim was sent to Bellevue Hospital with a knee injury. There is no word on the severity of his injury.
When Lohan returned to her car after leaving the club, she was arrested.
Lohan’s rep, Steve Honig, released a statement: “While some of the facts are still being gathered, it appears that this is much ado about nothing. We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the coming weeks and the claims being made against Lindsay will be proven untrue.”
TMZ.com, which first reported the arrest, says that no alcohol was involved.
