A couple from California were arrested Thursday in connection with the death of a woman and the kidnapping of her three children, PEOPLE can confirm.
Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, were arrested without incident in Pueblo County, Colorado, at approximately 12:00 p.m. by officers conducting an unrelated investigation at a local motel.
On Sunday Aug. 14, Humphrey’s half-sister Kimberly Harvill was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in Gorman, L.A., and police later issued an arrest warrant for Humphrey and Robertson, who they believed had taken the victim’s children, Joslynn, 2, Brayden, 3, and Rylee, 5.
According to police, Robertson has a criminal history, is on Post Release Community Supervision, and has a previous arrest for possession of a firearm. It is not clear how Robertson and Humphrey have pleaded, if they have, or if they have legal representation.
