Ask and ye shall receive: Charlie Sheen reported his Mercedes stolen early Friday morning – about the same time the car was found at the bottom of a cliff near the winding Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles police say.
The crashed vehicle was upside down in a steep ravine near the actor’s home in Sherman Oaks, Officer Bruce Borihanh tells the Associated Press. Authorities located the car after a 911 call came in about it at 4 a.m. Friday, approximately the same time Sheen called to say his four-door Mercedes had been stolen, Borihanh says.
It wasn’t clear whether the Two and a Half Men star, 44, knows who took the car, and a suspect was not in custody.
Borihanh says the case is being treated as an auto theft. Authorities searched the area by helicopter and on foot but found no evidence that there was anyone in the car when it went over the cliff’s edge.
Sheen was not hurt in the incident.
“Charlie was not in the car,” Sheen’s rep Stan Rosenfield tells PEOPLE. “Charlie’s fine.” He also said police continue to investigate the case.
Sheen himself joked to TV’s The Insider: “It was nice to have police come to my house and for once I didn’t have to leave with them.”
Brooke Leaving Rehab
Meanwhile, Sheen’s wife Brooke Mueller is leaving a North Carolina rehab and wellness clinic Friday to spend the weekend at a family home in Aspen, her lawyer says.

Sheen and Mueller got into a fight in Aspen on Christmas Day that led to assault charges and a restraining order against Sheen. Mueller, 32, has been staying at Two Dreams Outer Banks Drug and Alcohol Rehab Center since late last month.
“Brooke is coming to Aspen and will appear at her modification hearing to ease the restrictions so she and Charlie can reunite,” her attorney Yale Galanter tells PEOPLE. “I believe she will leave on Monday with her husband. They will return together to their life and family in Los Angeles.”
Galanter would not comment on reports that Sheen could be charged with a felony on Monday or before. The couple’s 11-month-old twin boys, Max and Bob, are still with Sheen in Los Angeles.
