An Atlanta-area rapper known as Bankroll Fresh (né Trentavious White) was shot and killed on Friday, the Fulton County Medical Examiner confirms to PEOPLE.
The 28-year-old was reportedly shot outside of a recording studio, and later died at a local hospital. Officers have no information on suspects or possible motives, Fox 5 Atlanta reports.
According to CNN, police found over 50 shell casings inside and outside the Street Execs Studios, which is located in Northwest Atlanta.
In a statement to PEOPLE, Atlanta police confirmed that they were called to the studio where they noticed “a large crowd of people fleeing.”
“Shortly after units arrived, it was learned that at least one victim was shot and was transported away from the scene in an unknown vehicle,” the police said. They also confirmed that the victim died of his gunshot wounds at Hughes Spalding hospital.
Although the neighborhood association did not respond to a request for comment from CNN, local NBC affiliate WXIA reported that residents who live in the area have been worried about the studio, as they believe it attracts violence.
Upon hearing the news of White’s death, many big names in the rap community took to Twitter to express their sorrow. Rappers 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa, all tweeted their condolences on Saturday morning.
“We lost a good one. Rest peacefully lil homie Bankroll u gon always be family,” Wayne wrote.
