Ryan Kinder Rocks Out in the Premiere of His New Video for 'Are We Doing This'

Posted on

Singer-songwriter Ryan Kinder is making waves on the country music scene for this catchy songs and gritty voice. And his latest video, “Are We Doing This,” only puts him higher on the list of ones to watch.

The clip features the brown-haired hunk showing off his noted guitar skills and soulful vocals, while hanging with his band in an twilight-light studio. “I think I know the answer, but the question is, we doin’ this?” he sings in the suggestive tune.

The song is the second single off of Kinder’s 5-track Deconstructed Studio Sessions EP, which features studio cuts of Kinder’s original songs as well as a country cover of Justin Bieber‘s hit pop jam “Sorry.”

The 27-year-old Tennessee native found fame on the University of Alabama music scene at the young age of 16, and has written with some of Nashville’s best since moving to music city. He’s also performed on the road alongside country stars like Zac Brown, Brett Eldredge, Jennifer Nettles and Brandy Clark.

“In my failure to sound like my idols, I was able to discover my own sound,” he says, on his Facebook page, citing Eric Clapton, John Mayer and Keith Urban among his greatest musical influences.

“This whole journey started with a guitar. Just playing. Incessantly. To the point of annoyance to my family. So, inherently, I enjoy jamming too much,” Kinder jokes to PEOPLE.

“I proposed to my guitar player for the session, Adam Cunningham, that we have a ‘call and answer’ jam at the end of ‘Are We Doing This.’ It felt great until Sean McDonald, my drummer for the session, proposed we take it halftime and it just felt perfect. That’s one of my favorite parts of the whole deconstructed sessions.”

Kinder is currently playing shows around the country, and joined headliner Tim McGraw and Kacey Musgraves at the Summerfest musical festival Sunday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
