With Luke Bryan’s string of Spring Break EPs (leading up to this year’s Spring Break . . . Here to Party compilation), as well as 2011’s double-platinum Tail-gates & Tanlines, he has fashioned himself as country’s ultimate good-time guy.

He plays off that persona, with a clever twist, on the title-track ballad from Crash My Party: “Ain’t a spot downtown that’s rockin’ the way that you rock me/Ain’t a bar that can make me buzz the way that you do,” Bryan declares, giving his lady a free pass to bust up his revelry for romance. Still, this country boy knows how to have fun, whether it’s with his “pretty girl by my side” on the thumping “That’s My Kind of Night” or with the “dirt road kings” in his rowdy teens on the wistful “We Run This Town.”

The album has some forgettable moments and lacks serious ambition, but hey, that doesn’t spoil the party.

Bryan is currently on tour and his Crash My Party album release show at New York’s Irving Plaza Thursday night is sold out.
