The country-music superstars, who are set to perform together in Brooks’s much-anticipated world tour starting in September, have put their Malibu beach rancher up for sale, according to real-estate website Zillow.
According to the listing, the property boasts four bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths, and sits on a half acre of land, close enough to walk to nearby Paradise Cove beach. The one-story house at 28020 Sea Lane Drive features vaulted ceilings, plenty of windows and an expansive patio fit for entertaining. It was built in the late 1950s and was purchased by Brooks and Yearwood in 2008, right after it underwent an extensive remodeling, for $4.75 million, the listing notes.
Not surprisingly, the comfy 4,236-square-foot home, located in a gated community, also includes a stylish and open chef’s kitchen, perfect for inventive down-home cook Yearwood, 49, whose Food Network show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, earned a Daytime Emmy Award in 2013.
All country-music history aside, it will cost a new owner a bit more to take the beach retreat off their hands, with the asking price now set at $7.5 million.
The Malibu house marks the second prospective sale for Yearwood, as she and Brooks, 52, refocus their lives around their careers. In April, according to Zillow, Yearwood put her Brentwood, Tennessee, home on the market for $2.2 million. She purchased that property in 2000.
In recent years, the musical couple have spent much of their time at their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, near Tulsa. Brooks retired from touring in 2000 to return to Oklahoma and spend time with his three daughters as they grew up. His youngest graduated from high school in May, paving the way for his return to the stage and the release of new music.
