Danica Patrick is taking a detour from the racetrack to the awards show stage.

The NASCAR star, 31, is teaming up with Trace Adkins, 51, to host the American Country Awards – which he has emceed for the last four years, co-hosted last year by Kristin Chenoweth.

Airing live on Fox on Dec. 10, the show will take place at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas.

This is not Patrick’s first foray into the country world. She has appeared in music videos with Miranda Lambert and singer-rapper, Colt Ford.

At last year’s awards, Luke Bryan was a big winner, along with Lambert, who acknowledged hubby Blake Shelton in her acceptance speech – he co-wrote her winning “Over You” song.

“Honey, we won an award,” she said. “We’re on competing channels tonight. Blake and I live busy lives and we get to celebrate awesome moments together. I love that we have separate things. As a couple I think it’s important you have separate lives and hobbies and things to talk about when you get home.”
