After 10 years together, country superstars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are calling it quits. Subscribe now for an inside look into their shocking split, only in PEOPLE.
The Voice coach took to Twitter on Tuesday to document a recent workout session, Tweeting: “Just got off the treadmill. This calls for a drink. Bitch…”
After a fan Tweeted, “@blakeshelton I cannot image you in a treadmill haha,” Shelton cracked another joke, referencing the popular Jack Link’s beef jerky commercials wherein campers play pranks on Sasquatch.
The country star, 39, also swapped out his Twitter cover photo – which had long been a picture of Lambert’s Marie Claire cover – in favor of what appears to be a shot of himself performing on stage.
Lambert, 31, updated her Twitter page as well, replacing a cute shot of her and Shelton together, with a promo for an upcoming concert she’s playing in Nashville.
The couple confirmed in a statement Monday that they had split after four years of marriage.
“This is not the future we envisioned,” the pair told the Associated Press. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
A source told PEOPLE that Lambert, who fell for Shelton after performing a duet with him during a concert special in 2005, is “sad and trying to process everything.”
“She’s doing the best she can and taking it day by day,” added the source.
A Shelton source told PEOPLE, “He’s devastated, but he’s been really private about it. He’s focused on the job and has been as engaged and friendly as he has always been.”
