After Jesús Heuche fell from a tree while pruning in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, he woke up from unconsciousness with the company of a loyal friend: his dog Tony. The dog, who held his owner till the paramedics arrived, didn’t move from the 28-year-old’s side with his paws firmly on Heuche’s chest.

Tony also would not let emergency crew or police get near Heuche once they arrived. “He thought they wanted to do something [bad] to me,” he said.

The sweet moment between Tony and his owner was photographed after the bad fall on Monday and it went viral immediately after being published.

“At 06:07 p.m, a person who was pruning a tree in Balboa Street 2473 fell from it from a height of about 2 meters. The 28-year-old worker suffered slight head trauma, so he was transported by ambulance personnel with the SIEMPRE service. The entire time, the injured [man] was accompanied by his pet TONY. Police and Civil Defense personnel were present,” said the post.

In the photos, Heuche is seen on the ground with a blanket and neck brace as his pet lies on him in a protective manner; and when he is being transported into the ambulance, the dog stays by his side.

“I woke up because I had my son, the dog, on top of me,” said Heuche. “I give him all my love and he gives me everything back.”

Jesus, who is now recovering from a head injury,  found his pup on the street four years ago and he now follows him everywhere.
