Is  Demi Lovato releasing music with her childhood idol Christina Aguilera?

The two singers hinted that a collaboration between the two artists is on the way. When TMZ asked the “Beautiful” singer if a collab was in the works last week, Aguilera, who promised her fans her new album is on the way in January, suggested yes. “I love Demi,” she responded. “She’s my girl, big things are coming!” Keeping fans’ curiosity inflamed, Lovato touched on the topic during the Dallas stop on her  Tell Me You Love Me Tour: “Now Christina’s my girl and big things are coming,” the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer said.

Rumors of a musical partnership between the two divas started swirling last year when Lovato told Billboard: “I did a collaboration with one of my biggest idols. I can’t give away who it is yet, but you’ll find out soon. I can’t wait for the world to hear it. It’s an incredible song.”

After Lovato released her last album Tell Me You Love Me in September, she revealed that Aguilera was her musical inspiration: “I grew up listening to Christina Aguilera. She was one of my idols growing up, she still is,” she told PEOPLE, adding, “I think it was her breakout album that really transformed her into the icon that she is today. So that inspired me … she really inspired this album. I was even inspired by the black and white artwork!”

Earlier this year, the former Voice judge told fans that the wait for her new album is coming to an end. “It’s coming, bi—-s,” she wrote on Instagram Jan. 22.
