Wynonna Judd filed for divorce Tuesday from her estranged husband, D.R. Roach, she announced in a statement on her Web site.
According to the statement, Roach was arrested on March 22 in Abilene, Texas, and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a minor.
“I am obviously devastated,” Judd, 42, says on her site. “Our family will pull together, begin the healing process and hopefully – by the Grace of God – become stronger.
“We will move forward with our faith, family and our friends to find resolution to this difficult situation.”
The statement also says Roach had been seeking treatment for drug and alcohol addiction at the Shades of Hope Treatment Center in Buffalo Gap, Texas, since Feb. 21.
The divorce complaint, filed by Judd’s attorney, cites irreconcilable differences and says the couple are “unable to live together successfully as husband and wife,” The Tennessean reports.
According to the Abilene (Texas) Reporter-News, Roach, 49, is being held on $750,000 bail in a Texas jail after his arrest on Thursday in Abilene. He is wanted as a fugitive from justice in Tennessee on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, the Reporter-News says.
Judd and Roach, her longtime security director and road manager, were married in Nov. 22, 2003 in Tennessee. It was the second marriage for both; Judd has two children, Elijah, 12, and Grace, 10, from her 1996 marriage to Arch Kelley III.
