Woody Allen, who has first-hand experience with sex scandals, says President Clinton has been getting a “raw deal” in the Monica Lewinsky case. In a New York Daily News interview, Allen even discussed how he would have handled things. “If I were Clinton, I would have gone in front of the American people and said, ‘Yes, I’m having an affair with this woman. My wife is still behind me so it’s really none of your business, and if this is not OK with you, fine, get yourself a new President.'”

  • In related news, President Clinton has agreed to pay Paula Jones $850,000 to drop her legal claim that he crudely propositioned her seven years ago. There will be no apology and no acknowledgment of any wrongdoing by the President, according to the terms of Friday’s settlement.
