Woody Allen’s father, Martin Konigsberg, 100, a former waiter and jewelry engraver, died in New York on Monday. Only last Sunday, Allen, 65, a devoted son, spoke of his dad to New York’s Daily News. “My father is a classic example of a guy who smoked two packs a day since he was 16,” he said. “Eats two eggs for breakfast and meat for dinner seven days a week, dishes of ice cream before bed at night.” Furthermore, said Woody, the family doctor told the old man only recently that he “could pass a draft physical tomorrow.”
