WEEK AHEAD: Jessica Opens People's Choice Awards

Jessica Simpson is back onstage, performing at the People’s Choice Awards Tuesday on CBS. PEOPLE looks at the former Newlywed‘s return to the spotlight, plus some other big TV comebacks to watch for in the coming week:

MONDAY, JAN. 9: Sacre bleu! The Bachelor returns, this time taking his romantic quest to Paris. The 25 hopeful ladies are vying for the attention of Dr. Travis Stork, a 33-year-old single ER physician (ABC, 10 p.m. ET).

Also making their way to the small screen: Heather Graham, who’s looking for love on the new ABC sitcom Emily’s Reasons Why Not (9 p.m. ET), and John Stamos, whose ABC show Jake in Progress is getting a new lease on life (9:30 p.m. ET).

TUESDAY, JAN. 10: Jessica Simpson will be the center of attention – this time not for her personal life but for her opening performance at the People’s Choice Awards, airing live from Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. The former Newlywed is nominated for her sexy version of “These Boots are Made for Walkin’,” which was featured in the big-screen version of The Dukes of Hazzard.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 11: Singer-actress Vanessa Williams plays a glamorous hotel owner in the new sudsy drama South Beach, executive produced by a lady who knows a little something about drama – Jennifer Lopez. The show, set in the land of bikinis and hip clubs, premieres at 8 p.m. ET on UPN.

THURSDAY, JAN. 12: Wonder Years star Fred Savage is giving TV comedy another go with Crumbs, in which he stars as Mitch Crumb, who goes back to his hometown to see his mother who’s just been released from a psychiatric hospital. Jane Curtin – of Saturday Night Live, Kate & Allie and 3rd Rock fame – plays his mom (9:30 p.m. ET, ABC).
