Tori Spelling’s first marriage, to writer-actor Charlie Shanian, will be officially over next week, freeing her to marry her boyfriend of seven months, actor Dean McDermott.
According to court documents, a Superior Court commissioner stated that Spelling’s marriage to Shanian will be dissolved on April 20.
The pair married in July 2004. Last September, Spelling announced that she and Shanian had been living apart since the beginning of August. Shanian filed for the divorce in October, and requested spousal support.
“I went into the marriage with the best intentions, hopes and dreams,” Spelling told PEOPLE at the time. “I feel that I’ve really disappointed people. I’ve disappointed everyone who came to my wedding. I’m disappointed in myself.”
Meanwhile, Spelling had begun a relationship with actor Dean McDermott, whom she met last year while filming the TV movie Mind Over Murder. They became engaged in December.
She is currently starring as a fictionalized version of herself in the VH1 sitcom So NoTORIous.
