Tommy Lee, already a graduate of the school of rock, is going to college – and NBC will track his progress for a new reality show.
The Motley Crue drummer, 40, will have cameras follow him as he shakes up higher education for the as-yet-untitled show. No word yet on an airdate – or for that matter, what institution will take him as a student, Variety reports.
Lee has long been interested in doing a reality show, but he’s been waiting for just the right project to come along. His bandmate, singer Vince Neil, has already made the leap into unscripted TV, having appeared in the first season of the WB’s Surreal Life (which moves to VH1 next month).
Still, Lee may stand a better chance of acceptance given that he has already authored a book, his autobiography Tommyland, due to be published in late October.
According to Amazon.com, those who have already placed advance orders for the title have also purchased Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose: by Paris Hilton, The Heroin Diaries by former Crue bandmate Nikki Sixx and Star : A Novel by Lee’s ex-wife (and mother of their two sons, Dylan and Brandon), Pamela Anderson.
