Teri Hatcher Offers Life Lessons in New Book

Posted on

The public is about to have the chance to catch Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher between the sheets – of her own book.

The actress, 40, plans to put to paper the life’s lessons she’s learned in Burnt Toast, a collection of advice and inspiration that the New York-based Hyperion Books plans to publish next spring.

“I have had many women approach me, sharing their own stories, and ask me how it feels to have a second chance at 40,” Hatcher said in a statement released by Hyperion. “With this book, I truly hope to reach everyone that I don’t bump into on the street and share my story.”

Hyperion adds in its own statement: “Burnt Toast isn’t a memoir – Teri’s much too young for that – but it will draw on experiences from her daily life to which we feel that many woman can relate, and they certainly don’t have to be a celebrity to relate to Teri Hatcher.”

No financial terms were divulged. At the time Hatcher accepted her Golden Globe for best actress in a TV comedy last January, Hatcher thanked ABC, the home to Housewives, for giving “me a second chance at a career when I couldn’t have been a bigger has-been.” (Both ABC and Hyperion are part of the Walt Disney Company.)

Prior to Housewives, San Francisco native Hatcher was best known as Lois Lane on TV’s Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, which ran from 1993-97. She has been married and divorced twice.
