Suze Orman’s 59th birthday is sure to be one she’ll always remember – but not for the best reasons.

The financial adviser underwent an emergency appendectomy surgery on Saturday – her birthday – but is now resting and recovering, her rep tells the Chicago Sun-Times.

Orman, host of CNBC’s The Suze Orman Show and the author of several New York Times bestsellers, had to have her appendix removed over the weekend at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago but was discharged on Tuesday, said spokeswoman Kristin Bouton.

“She’ll be taking a couple days to recover” at a Chicago hotel, adds Bouton, before she returns home to Florida.
