The parents of former Survivor producer Bruce Beresford-Redman – who is a person of interest in his wife s death – have filed for permanent guardianship of their son s children, Camilia and Alec, ages 5 and 3.
In the court documents, Bruce s father, David states, “[We] will be able to address questions that arise from our grandchildren and help guide them towards a happy and fruitful future despite the tragic loss of their mother.
David also adds that he and his wife, Juanita, have been in the children s lives since they were born. “Juanita was with the Monica, the mother of our grandchildren, during the birth of Camilla and held Monica’s hand during labor.”

The grandparents have temporary guardianship over the kids until May 20, according to court records. The grandparents and children are living in Bruce s Los Angeles home while he remains in Mexico during the ongoing investigation.
Earlier this month, Bruce reported the disappearance of his wife, Monica, in Mexico, saying that she had not returned from a shopping trip. Three days later, her body was found in the sewer of the Moon Palace resort where the family was staying. She died from a blow to the skull, according to reported autopsy results.
Beresford-Redman, an Emmy-nominated former producer of Survivor and Pimp My Ride, was temporarily detained by Mexican authorities and told to stay in the country while the investigation continues, according to reports.
A rep for Monica s family did not immediately return calls for comment.
