When you picture Sufjan Stevens – the angelic voice, quietly filigreed indie-folk music and songs about everything from John Wayne Gacy, Jr. to juvenile bone cancer – Drake isn’t the first thing that usually comes to mind.

But Saturday, during a show in New Jersey, Stevens decided to turn in a cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” in front a large projected image of the rapper, which made for a great spectacle, cognitive disconnect notwithstanding.

It’s a pretty faithful cover, and while Stevens’ dance moves aren’t quite on par with Drake’s, we have to say we approve.

Now all Stevens needs to do is release a Meek Mill diss track.
