Newlywed Star Jones Reynolds is set to meet and greet celebs for the E! Network’s cameras on Jan. 16 as the host of the two-hour Live From the Red Carpet: The 2005 Golden Globe Awards, the entertainment channel has announced.
“I have watched for years as a fan,” The View star, 42, who first stepped on the carpet for E! at September’s Emmys, said in a statement. “To be able to participate in all the fun and excitement now as the host is a dream come true.”
Meanwhile, the two former E! red-carpet hosts, Joan and Melissa Rivers, who held court on the network from 1996-2002, won’t be staying home on Golden Globe night, either. Viewers will be able to watch them greet the stars and insult what they’re wearing on the TV Guide Channel.
Last fall, an exclusive agreement between E! and the TV academy in charge of the Emmys prevented the Riverses from covering arrivals for the TV Guide Channel. (The mother-daughter’s TV Guide Channel deal was said to be worth $8 million over three years, the Associated Press reports.)
“It’s been a mess, it’s been a very messy couple of months,” Joan Rivers, 71, tells AP. “I think they have their acts together. I just want to get back to work.”
When it comes to dishing with the stars on Globe night, she added: “I think it will be notched up just because the energy is going to be so amazing,”
