Close your eyes, car lovers!

Early Wednesday morning, a sinkhole opened up in the middle of the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky., swallowing eight of the museum’s rarest models in the process. Footage of the collapse was captured by the museum’s security cameras.

After the sinkhole set off the facility’s motion detectors, authorities arrived on the scene to find a pit 40 feet wide and 30 feet deep. No one was injured in the incident, but as reported by New York’s Daily News, several museum employees were visibly shaken by the automotive treasures that were damaged.

“We had several employees in tears back there,” said Wendell Strode, the executive director of the museum. “They re here every day, they work with [the Corvettes], they take care of them.”

Six of the cars were donations to the museum, while the other two were on loan from General Motors. Below, watch from a different angle how these autos met their untimely demise.
