A single mother wasn’t going to let her son miss out on “Donuts with Dad” day at his elementary school.

When Yevette Vasquez went to drop off her son Elijah at Sue Crouch Intermediate School in Fort Worth, Texas, on Thursday, she asked him why there were so many cars in the parking lot, CNN reports.

After he told her that there was an event taking place that was meant for students and their dads, she quickly went home, put on a baseball cap, plaid shirt, fake mustache and cologne and went back to her son’s school.

Vasquez didn’t think twice about her bold act since her son has had to miss out on similar school activities in the past.

“I saw that same, sad look on his face, and I didn’t want that,” she said. “I wish I would have done it sooner.”

And Elijah couldn’t have been happier with his mom’s decision.

“He was really excited,” she told CNN. “He was shaking and said, ‘Thank you.’ I told him, ‘I did this for you so you can have fun.’ ”

After the event, Vasquez took to Facebook to share photos of the event.

On Tuesday, she shared a new post and wrote, “This is one AMAZING time in our lives and we greatly appreciate all the LOVE!!!!”
