Posted on

ENGAGED: Once-controversial Irish singer Sinead O’Connor, 34, has accepted a marriage proposal from Nick Sommerlad, 27, a Dublin-based correspondent for Britain’s Press Association whom she met in February, said the groom-to-be. “We have not got any firm dates for it yet,” he added. O’Connor has two children: son Jake, 13 (whose father was her ex-husband, drummer John Reynolds), and daughter Roisin, 5 (born of O’Connor’s relationship with Irish Times columnist John Waters) . . . INJURED: Former “The Partridge Family” moppet Danny Bonaduce, 41, had a boating accident last Wednesday night when his luxury craft, “Bonaduce,” became beached in shallow waters off Venice, Calif., said authorities. He suffered a minor head injury. Damage to his boat was estimated at $10,000 . . . Doobie Brothers drummer Mike Hossack, 54, was in serious condition with multiple fractures on Saturday after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing while riding to Lake Tahoe, where the rock band was set to play. “He is expected to be fine,” said a hospital spokeswoman . . . DIED: Yvonne Dionne, 67, a member of the first recorded set of quintuplets to survive more than a few days, passed away from cancer in a Montreal hospital on Saturday, said a family spokesman. Two of her sister quintuplets survive her, as do five of eight other siblings. The Dionne Quintuplets were exploited as tourist attractions when they were children, and later sued the Canadian government for separating them from their parents. They won $4 million.
