Sharon Osbourne is “free of cancer” after her months of medical treatment, her husband, Ozzy tells the weekly British rock magazine Kerrang!
Not that she is out of danger, he added, also voicing concerns over what the future might still hold for his wife. “She’s got no cancer in her body now, they tell me — but there’s always a chance of it coming back,” says Osbourne, 54. “She’s doing great, but I must confess that I’m still worried about her.”
Sharon, 50 — who is the bedrock of the offbeat Osbourne household and also manages Ozzy’s career — underwent a lengthy session of chemotherapy after last July’s announcement that she had colon cancer.
The startling news came just after she and the rest of her family had wrapped up a successful first season of their MTV show, “The Osbournes.” (The second season, which featured her treatment, didn’t fare anywhere near so well in the ratings.)
Ozzy, meanwhile, also spoke of the effect that his wife’s illness has had on his own health.
“With Sharon’s cancer and the success of the TV show, I lost it last year, I just freaked out. I think I had something like a nervous breakdown — my nervous system just imploded,” he said. “This is all too much for me sometimes.”
