Meet PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive — in Emoji Form!

Updated

You know you’ve made it in 2016 when you get a custom emoji to go with your Twitter hashtag.

The latest celebrity with the hookup? The 2016 Sexiest Man Alive, and this week’s PEOPLE cover star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Johnson’s #SexiestManAlive emoji was created in his likeness:  He’s shirtless, flexing his muscles and showing off one of his many tattoos. Want to see the Moana star’s emoji in your feed? Just type the hashtag #SexiestManAlive and he’ll appear!

Share your thoughts on Johnson’s brand-new title with #SexiestManAlive on Twitter, and pick up a copy of the special double issue, on newsstands Friday

Twitter’s emojis were created to highlight some of the most popular, of-the-moment hashtags — think presidential debates, awards shows and football games — and appear automatically when you post with the hashtag. Celeb-centric Twitter emojis are pretty rare: Taylor Swift scored one of the first ones for the release of her Bad Blood video in May 2015 – a band-aid over a bullet hole, paying homage to the one of the song’s memorable lyrics.

Emoji-fame aside, Johnson is a huge social media star in his own right: He has a whopping 70 million Instagram followers, plus another 10 million on Twitter.

“I’ve gotten to a place where there’s a direct line between the man that they know off-screen and then the man that they see on-screen,” he tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story. “Whether it’s on social media or this interview, that’s that same guy [they] see on-screen.”

PEOPLE announced Tuesday that Johnson is the 31st Sexiest Man Alive. The actor — who currently holds the title of the world’s highest-paid star — is the lead on HBO’s Ballers, and is about to make Disney magic with Moana (he sings!), which hits theaters Nov. 23.
