It sure beats letting a farm animal loose in the hallway!

Senior pranks are out and painting parking spots are in for students at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida. Seniors have gotten into the tradition of painting parking lot spots each year, which, when viewed from far above, turns the school parking lot into a beautiful mosaic of colors.

TK Photography used a drone to capture this aerial view of the parking lot, which shows the scope of the project.

“It’s something we do every year,” West Orange’s Senior Assistant Principal John Linehan tells PEOPLE. “We have a designated Saturday during the summer when students come with friends and family and paint their spot for the year.”

And seniors can let their imaginations run wild when it comes to their painted spots, which remain for the entire year.

The designs are approved by administration, but most students opt for positive messages, college mascots and inspirational quotes, according to Linehan.

Close-ups reveal the different routes taken by the students with their painting: One opted to riff on Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late

… while another pulled a pun on their name:

Each beautifully decorated spot was just as unique as the students themselves.

“The kids did all the work,” TK Photos writes on their Facebook page.
