Is there still hope for Justin Bieber fans? Because, despite all evidence to the contrary, he and Selena Gomez are still not officially an item.

The teen-power pair once again dodged being labeled a couple at Monday night’s L.A. premiere of his new film, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, keeping their distance on Bieber’s big night.

Gomez, 18, hit the purple carpet in a stunning purple cocktail dress that matched Bieber’s purple tuxedo jacket, but the twosome were like ships passing in the night, avoiding each other in front of the cameras.

When pressed, Bieber, 16, said of Gomez’s support, “It’s great.” He then added: “She’s a great person. And as long as you keep yourself surrounded by good people, you’ll go far.”

The YouTube sensation turned pop icon had plenty of A-List friends on board at the premiere, with Miley Cyrus, Will Smith and his family, Usher, Jane Lynch and Chris Brown all making appearances.
