Everyone knows Zach Braff‘s Twitter feed is awesome (who else would Tweet, “I think Lebron‘s gonna go to the Mets. #sports”), so PEOPLE was more than happy to put our account in his hilarious hands for a day.

Braff, 39, documented his busy schedule promoting Wish I Was Here, the first feature film he’s written and directed since 2004’s breakthrough coming-of-age comedy Garden State.

Also starring Kate Hudson, Josh Gad and Mandy Patinkin, Wish I Was Here was funded with Kickstarter and hits theaters July 18. The movie is equal parts funny and touching – just like Braff as he took over PEOPLE’s Twitter on Monday, revealing his pure love for One Direction’s Harry Styles.

Relive Braff’s day below, from his studio stops at the Today show and SiriusXM to a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s premiere and a special Scrubs reunion.
