Ex-“Baretta” star Robert Blake, 67, whose wife was killed on Friday, returned to his L.A.-area home on Sunday after an overnight hospital stay for high blood pressure. Police, meanwhile, continue to search for the gunman who reportedly shot the actor’s wife in the head late Friday as she sat in the couple’s car near a Hollywood restaurant where they had dined. The L.A. County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Bonny Lee Bakley, 45. Autopsy results are due Monday, said a senior clerk at the coroner’s office. The Associated Press reports that Blake went back into the eatery to fetch his handgun, which his attorney said that the actor carried because his wife feared for her life. Bakley (who had been on probation after being convicted in her home state of Arkansas for carrying phony ID) had signed a prenuptial agreement before her marriage to Blake earlier this year, agreeing not to engage in any criminal activity, the attorney added. On Sunday, police refused to comment on the case. Previously they said that Blake was not considered a suspect. Reuters reports that Blake has hired an investigator to help solve the murder.
