What did the Fab Four do when they weren’t making ’60s girls swoon? Sometimes, document their own incredible journey.

Now Ringo Starr has gathered over a hundred of his never-before-seen photos in a new e-book, Photograph (Genesis Publications, available from ringophotograph.com and the iBookstore).

He discovered some of the shots only recently “in boxes we brought home after my mother died,” Starr tells PEOPLE. “We thought, ‘I wonder what she’s got!'”

The Beatles were exhaustively photographed, but, as Starr writes of this intimate trove, “these are shots that no one else could have.”
