Despite rampant reportage on Monday claiming Drew Barrymore was preparing to say “I do” for the third time — this time to Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti — the actress’s publicist, Toby Fleischman, tells, “There’s no truth to it.”

The Strokes’ camp is denying the reports as well.

The whole matrimonial whirlwind started with an item from New York Post columnist Liz Smith, who wrote that Barrymore, 27, and Moretti, 22, were planning to hold a traditional ceremony, “possibly” at the Italian villa of George Clooney. (Barrymore is currently starring in the role of a flower child in Clooney’s directorial debut, “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.”)

The couple reportedly met backstage at a Strokes concert in California last April.

By celebrity standards, that’s plenty of time. In 1994, Barrymore wed Welsh bartender Jeremy Thomas after a six-week romance. The union lasted 19 days.

In 2000, she married Canadian comedian Tom Green. That union lasted five months.

In September, Green, 31, told PEOPLE of his relationship with Barrymore: “We were beginning to have problems before we got married. I don’t want to go into exact details. But I said I promised this person and I’m not giving up.

“Maybe the smarter thing would have been to not get married. But I was so firm in my belief that it would work I kept on. My parents are still together. I assumed I’d never be divorced.”

Today, he said, “We’re not great friends anymore. It’s sad.”
