Hashtags come and hashtags go, but the best Twitter hashtags stick around and become memes in and of themselves. We really hope that’s the case with #RemoveALetterRuinABand, which has been making the rounds this weekend on the social media site.

It’s pretty self-explanatory: You cut one letter from a band’s name, changing the meaning/gravitas/entire point of the name. Sometimes you upload a picture as well, like this one.

Or this one.

The best ones are often the most head-smackingly obvious in retrospect.

Now this is a summer festival reunion tour we can get behind.

Some bands give you more mileage than others.

With others, the joke comes from the juxtaposition between the real band’s image and whatever you’ve created.

To be honest, the whole thing sounds like a dad joke to us.

Presented without comment.

Wonder if he’s any relation to Llama Del Rey.

Tweet your own creation, or add in the comments!
