“Harry’s a down-to-earth young fellow. Although he is who he is, he is very approachable and warms to people readily,” says his friend, Prince Seeiso. “He’s intuitive, in the sense of immediately appreciating whether someone’s coming genuinely to him for him as a person rather than his title.”
Seeiso established the Sentebale charity with Harry, 24, and the trust will be the beneficiary of a polo match Harry’s playing on May 30 – the main event during his two-day stay in New York.
Having spent time with Harry in the southern African country of Lesotho, which is the focus of Sentebale’s aid, Seeiso, who will join Harry in New York for part of the trip, says, “He warms to the children there very easily. He is a young man who loves life, like any other young chap, and he’s passionate about what he’s doing.”
The pair are hoping that awareness about Lesotho and its challenges will be raised, as will much-needed funds. “We tend to be overshadowed by our big brother South Africa, so the more people who make inquiries about Lesotho and hopefully visit will be a great spin-off,” he tells PEOPLE.
