When it comes to glamour, photographer Tyler Shields has a definition all his own.
“Glamour has many sides to it,” Shields tells PEOPLE. “There is an idea of what glamour is, but at the end of the day, the most glamourous people still use the bathroom. I love destroying glamour, it makes it much more meaningful to me.”
Now Shields, 31, has compiled his risqué photo shoots into his first book, The Dirty Side of Glamour.
“The biggest challenge in making The Dirty Side of Glamour was patience,” he explains. “It took years to build it up and years to wait for the right time to put it out, but when it was ready, everything that was supposed to be in there was.”
As for who Shields is yet to capture with his lens, a boxing legend takes the no. 1 spot on his wish list.
“Floyd Mayweather Jr., he’s my top person to photograph,” he says.
The Dirty Side of Glamour is available Nov. 12 from HarperCollins.
