REUNITED: “Shakespeare in Love” stars Gwyneth Paltrow, 30, and Joseph Fiennes, 33, got together again and recited the balcony scene from “Romeo and Juliet” Monday at London’s Globe Theater before a crowd that included Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, reports the Associated Press. Charles and his longtime companion watched from a box which in Shakespearean times was known as one of the “gentlemen’s rooms.” Sheltered from the elements, these seats would have been used by wealthy visitors.
QUIT: USA Network lost Russian tennis ace Anna Kournikova as a TV reporter covering the behind the scenes of the U.S. Open when the athlete, 22, quit her work as an on-air journalist after only three days, reports the New York Post. She was said to be embarrassed by her flubs before the camera, though Kournikova also reportedly blamed the fact she was eating too much as she roamed the rounds of the event.
SUED: An arts center in Michigan has filed a lawsuit against singer Tori Amos, 40, and her California-based manager, seeking to recoup a $40,000 deposit for an Aug. 19 concert that never took place, says the AP. Officials for the Interlochen Center for the Arts reportedly canceled the performance because of unresolved concerns over the terms of Amos’s contract. A rep for Amos’s agent did not return calls seeking comment.
BUSTED: Olympic gold medalist Alexei Yagudin, 23, was arrested Sunday for drunken driving after police pulled him over for speeding outside of Hartford, Conn., reports the Hartford Courant. The four-time world champ skating star was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, speeding and making an improper lane change, according to police. He was released on $250 bond and is due in court Sept. 10.
