Paris's Ex Drops Suit over Sex Tape

Posted on

Paris Hilton and her ex-boyfriend (and costar in that infamous sex tape), Web entrepreneur Rick Salomon, have apparently reached a ceasefire. Salomon has dropped his $10 million slander lawsuit against the hotel heiress and her parents, the Associated Press reports.

In court papers filed Tuesday, attorneys for Salomon requested that the claims against the Hiltons be dismissed. No reason was given, and AP was unsuccessful in reaching Salomon’s attorney, Martin Singer, for comment.

The videotape of Salomon having sex with Hilton, shot three years ago (before he married Shannen Doherty), surfaced last year, just before the launch of Hilton’s FOX reality series, “The Simple Life.”

Salomon, however, has not dropped his lawsuit against Hilton’s publicist Siri Garber. In court papers, Salomon claims it was Garber who “orchestrated” a smear campaign against him.

In the suit he had filed in November, Salomon, 36, claimed the Hiltons and Garber sought to portray him as a criminal.

“Hilton, her family and at least one of her publicists have … embarked on a cold, calculated and malicious campaign to portray Salomon as a rapist who took advantage of a sweet and innocent girl who had no idea what happened to her,” the lawsuit said.

“Defendants then cleverly hinted to the press that there might be an issue as to whether Hilton was underage, which they obviously could have dismissed with one phone call,” the legal papers added.
