Frenchie Davis, who was ousted from “American Idol” two weeks ago after topless photos of her reportedly surfaced on a Web site catering to underage-model fans, doesn’t appear to be suffering from her public embarrassment.
USA Today reports that the 23-year-old singer spent Grammy week meeting Aretha Franklin, singing for RCA Records president Clive Davis and handling hosting duties on the red carpet for “Entertainment Tonight.”
And when the newspaper asked, “Who needs ‘American Idol’?” Davis replied: “I don’t.”
Davis may be right. She is now reportedly mulling over a comedy movie script, as well as other offers that appear to be rolling her way. According to USA Today, Tom Ennis of 19 Management (which produces “Idol”) is also seeking a recording contract for Davis
As for being so high profile during Grammy week in New York, Davis, now back at her Los Angeles home, said, “People were so nice and supportive.”
And despite the prospective professional offers, Davis claims that this fall she’ll be back at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she is about two semesters away from graduating.
“Nothing is guaranteed in this life,” she says, “but the only thing no one can take away from you is education.”
