Music videos come and go but few leave a lasting impression. When One Republic set out to release a special edition video for “Feel Again,” their first single off their new album, Native, they knew it had to be special.
The band’s lead singer Ryan Tedder wrote the song, drawing on recordings of heartbeats of children in remote villages of Malawi and Guatemala for inspiration, and the video features never-before-seen footage of his visit there.
Tedder went to see some of Save The Children’s programs, focusing on improving the health and nutrition of children and their families.
“As soon as we heard about the Every Beat Matters campaign, we knew we wanted to be involved,” Tedder tells PEOPLE. “My trip to Guatemala showed me first-hand what Save the Children does for kids around the world. It was a special experience.”
The Every Beat Matters campaign aims to make basic lifesaving health care available to children around the world so that millions more survive.
