Life as a wife-to-be started off with a bang for Olympian Jessica Hardy.

The pro swimmer, 26, almost lost her engagement ring on Sunday.

“I gave away my arena backpack w my engagement ring in it,” she Tweeted after realizing the error. “To a volunteer in blue shirt. Pls rt & help me find it. Please!!!!!!”

Describing in another Tweet just where the bauble was located in the bag, Hardy continued to beg for her followers’ assistance.

Luckily, the piece of jewelry was returned to its owner the same day she sent the Tweets.

Hardy wrote: “I GOT IT!! Thank u #bcn2013 for ur AMAZING volunteers. Amazing amazing.”

Posting a photo of Hardy with her ring, the athlete’s fiancé, Dominik Meichtry Tweeted with a winking emoticon, “Thanks to everyone who helped @swimhardy & I breathe a sigh of relief. Found the ring. Engaged twice now.”
