Since Sunday night was all about the VMAs (see all the red carpet looks here), it’s a little hard to think about anything but Justin Timberlake. So, we’re doing you a favor: Here are five other things that you might have missed this weekend:

5. Why We Paid Attention in High School English Class

We just knew all that Shakespeare would come in handy some day, so if you, too, remember reading Romeo and Juliet in class, thou time is now: Orlando Bloom’s transformation into the original star-crossed lover began Saturday as the curtains opened for previews of the play’s Broadway adaptation. Who wouldn’t want to be his Juliet?

4. Simon Cowell’s Happy Face

It’s not everyday you get to see Cowell crack a smile, but the dad-to-be was grinning ear-to-ear as he stepped out on a French beach with Lauren Silverman, who is expecting his child, on Saturday. It was the first time the couple have been spotted together since news (and the subsequent criticism) broke of her pregnancy. See the couple.

3. ‘NSYNC 101: One Direction, Take Notes

‘NSYNC’s much-buzzed-about reunion at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards meant our collective ’90s teenage dreams were coming true. The void in our hearts since the boy band broke up in 2002 just hasn’t been filled by the likes of One Direction – although we think they can learn a thing or two from Justin Timberlake and his posse. Take a syllabus.

2. Would You Challenge Katie Holmes to a Dance-Off?

We don’t expect to see Holmes twerking any time soon, but we think the Miley-worthy moves she busted out at Saturday’s Apollo in the Hamptons: A Night of Legends benefit would get even daughter Suri’s stamp of approval. And no one really wants to watch Mom dance to “Blurred Lines.” Check out her moves.

1. Why Alec Baldwin & Hilaria Had the Sweetest Weekend Ever

Special delivery! Baldwin and his wife arrived at their N.Y.C. apartment on Sunday toting baby Carmen, whom they welcomed on Friday. The actor carried his daughter in a car seat covered with a pink baby blanket – let diaper duty begin! Send your congrats to the couple!
