No Doubt is back!
After a four-year hiatus, the band is planning to hit the road next year.
“I don’t think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again,” singer Gwen Stefani wrote in a band chat on No Doubt’s Web site Friday night.
“We need to play. It’s been too long,” wrote bassist Tony Kanal. “I feel like it’s time for some rock and roll.”
Although the band has not announced any cities or dates, sources says the tour will likely kick off in summer 2009.
No Doubt – whose members have been together for more than 20 years – is also preparing to start work on its first studio album since 2001’s Rock Steady.
During their hiatus, Stefani, 39, released two solo albums and became a mother to sons Kingston and Zuma.
Guitarist Tom Dumont, 40, also focused on a side project, Invincible Overlord, got married and welcomed sons Ace and Rio.
Kanal, 38, produced music for other artists including Pink and Stefani. And drummer Adrian Young, 39, toured and recorded with other bands.
